CLINICIAN
INFORMATION
Why are written prescriptions required?
In Florida, it is unlawful for any person to engage in the practice of hypnosis for therapeutic purposes unless such person is a practitioner of one of the healing arts, as herein above, or acts under the supervision, direction, prescription, and responsibility of such a person.
A written prescription proves the responsible referring member of the healing arts profession authorizes hypnosis for a therapeutic purpose.

Can hypnosis for a therapeutic purpose begin without a written prescription?
No,  not in Florida.

What is medically supportive hypnosis?
Medically supportive hypnosis is also commonly referred to as hypnotherapy. Hypnosis is used as an adjunct tool or method to make suggestions to a person to enhance or support therapeutic medical goals established by a member of the healing arts professions.

May I get a copy of your written prescription to give to my referring health professional?
Yes. We would be pleased to provide a copy of our medical prescription form for your  referring health professional. Please call our office. You will be asked to fill out our client information forms. A certified clinical hypnotherapist or a certified hypnotist will call you to discuss your need. Then, once the need for medical prescription is established, we will be happy to fax or email our prescription form to your referral source.
